I can't claim to be a hardcore fan, but De La Soul has always been one of my favorite rap groups. I remember being so happy when they released all their music for free in 2014; I got on their newsletter from that, and just last month bought a t-shirt on their merch store as they prepared for their catalog to hit streaming on March 3.

So awful that Dave is gone.

My best friend has been teaching me about Rap, Hip Hop, Neosoul, and tons of music I was never exposed to. De La Soul was one of the doors that opened this fascinating world to me. The loss of this pioneer is devastating.
