I’ve been super stoked for them to have their catalog back in their control after so much time.

I can't claim to be a hardcore fan, but De La Soul has always been one of my favorite rap groups. I remember being so happy when they released all their music for free in 2014; I got on their newsletter from that, and just last month bought a t-shirt on their merch store as they prepared for their catalog to hit streaming on March 3.

So awful that Dave is gone.

As we remember the life of #TrugoytheDove who passed away at 54, I remember seeing #DeLaSoul in Stockholm as part of the city's 750th anniversary celebration. At one point they attempted a fun crowd trick that would have been easy in the USA. "Now it's time to get your anger out! This side of the crowd yell fuck all y'all, then that side yell it back."
Most Swedes speak better english than Americans, they knew what it meant. But they refused to insult one another. As Americans we were stunned.
