It seems like an oxymoron, but could non-disclosure agreements help the replicability of research?
[Detail in a reply. Those more versed in intellectual property law might be able to tease out how this proposal is different from a material transfer agreement - Matt]

@SylviaFysica Of course I jumped on the bandwagon quick with this article because I believe the system of science is broken for many reasons. I love your clear, concise and measured response below.
So that I can comfortably stay on the bandwagon 😉 would you mind telling me which changes or reforms you would reccomend implementing in Science (generally or domain specific) to improve its functioning?
A new study finds that "disruptive science" has declined and its not really clear why...
Papers and patents are becoming less disruptive over time (2023):

If you wonder why I occasionally give science and academia a hard time—go have a look at #ReceptioGate. The tip of the iceberg for what goes on in academia these days and a prime example of what passes for "science" under #neoliberalism.
A massive threat for #TrustInScience. There are too many administrators/bureaucrats/middlemen who've become fatcats, happy to ignore the problem because for them its an earner 🫣.
This is also part of the reason that our democracies are under threat. #academia

Interesting short article by Heather Douglas on why and when the public should trust experts - basically we need to explain HOW we come to decisions and what our VALUES are if we are to be seen as trustworthy.

Not crazy about arrogant tone of this article, but heuristic is worth looking at "Amid increasing concern about trust in science being undermined by an ocean of misinformation, we consider how scientists, science curricula, and science educators must help equip individuals to evaluate the credibility of scientific information, even if the science is beyond their understanding."
