Fox News must be stopped. We must bring back the fairness doctrine.

All of this is a refining process to the accuracy, and it enriches the experience of both the OP and those who reply.

It is a publicly invested system of truth in reporting. All of us are pressured to do better or be called out.

That is why the rocks. 5/5

So what you have are a set of replies to a post or article by everyone who weighs in. Given that the intelligence level of Fediverse users seems to be higher (although that's mainly a theory), you'll have people holding you accountable for the accuracy of the information. They might know more about it. Or they might just have a snippet of info that was missed. 4/5

Those most likely to call out a post or an article are usually the ones pushed down the timeline. (I've seen this happen personally). So they continue to post or write the articles they want unencumbered.

Next we have the Fediverse. No algorithm and no inflated importance. Every post or article will be seen by all who happen to be on at that time. The timeline is nothing more than a timeline. Every reply is seen chronologically. 3/5

First, we have reporting on platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Algorithms act upon your account status, business profile, etc... and are boosted especially with premium features. A large percentage of accounts may not even be seen when they reply. Add to that large account behaviours like aloofness, and you have mainly fawning fans pushed to the top of the reply stream.

The biggest thing lost is accountability for the accuracy in reporting. 2/5

Another case for the Fediverse.

One thing about the Fediverse that is obscure until recognized, is its natural system of checks and balances. This by the way branches into truth in reporting for all media, not just journalism.

I'll build out a comparison between the Fediverse and Corporate owned Social Media. This will apply primarily in terms of algorithm and visibility, and describe how it branches into each system of checks and balances. 1/5

@the_Effekt @dangillmor Reporters will also be held to account for their reporting which is the reason some of them don't want to make the move.
