I've been on prep for a while now in hopes that it will help my long covid. I'm considering stopping for a bit just to see if I will be ok or improve, what say other long covid people #LongCovid #truvada #truvadalongcovid it boosts the CD4 T-cells which is why I started taking it in the first place. I felt like I was actively dying, but my liver area has also been getting a lil owchy recently. Hence why I want to take a break and see if anything happens.

What do y'all reckon?

A few months ago I switched my #PrEP from #Truvada to #Apretude. A shot in the ass once every two months, and no more pills? Yes, please.

If you are HIV-negative and sexually active, please talk to your medical care provider about PrEP / #PreExposureProphylaxis.

If the #USTaxpayers invested in #Bedaquiline, we need to sue #JnJ (Johnson & Johnson) for the generic access just like we did for #Truvada! @aoc.

If your long covid symptoms kind of match up with HIV symptoms, which mine did (not 100% but close enough), then #truvada for #LongCovid might work for you. This is not official endorsement because I might get in big trouble from the government or doctors or whatever but all I'm saying is that no other medication gave me anywhere near this level of improvement that truvada has. Sure. It's not perfect and most days I still feel like shit. But at least I can eat food again even one meal a day without feeling like I'm going to vom and I don't feel like I'm in an actively dying phase, and my head doesn't feel like I've put on a helmet then bashed it around on a wall for many hours at a time.

I have completely valid reasons to believe I was in an actively dying phase before truvada. And now I feel like I'm not dying but still feel like ass. But it's some improvement. I've gone out on my scooter (for very short trips) twice now since the truvada started kicking in (haven't gone out again in a couple of weeks because 1: it has been raining and water damages the scooter
2: I don't need to go anywhere except the dentist next week to assess the damage and I've got a friend taking me so I don't have to lug the scooter into the dentists office. It's kinda awkward and id like to avoid that if I can just because it will be easier to not have to also worry about where I'm going to park it especially if the office is tiny. I never park it on the street because I simply cannot afford to have it get stolen, it's my only mode of transportation and I can't afford to replace it.
3: this last week or so has been quite bad flare up wise. There are improvements but I still have mostly bad days. I'm like. Barely functional but it's enough that I can eat which is like. Huge improvement.
I'm looking forward to trying to put weight back on because I lost soooooo much of it while I was in what I believe to be the active prolonged dying phase. I actually felt like I was dying. It's hard to explain.
I haven't been able to write a long post like this in weeks I've been that unwell.

I cannot stress enough how important it is for you all to wear your masks. Governments are lying to you. You need to wear your masks and have air purification to stay safe. Both. Not one or the other.
Do not catch covid. And if you have had it once. Try your absolute best not to catch it again if you can avoid it.

Also note. It took about a month to start working enough that I'm functioning slightly better than before. I was feeling some minor changes after a week or two but the real change didn't start until nearly a month.
Note. I have to stress how much I'm absolutely not cured. I'm still very sick. But I am functioning to the point that it doesn't feel like my head has been bashed around all day every day and I'm able to do occasional minor excersizes with resistance bands. I've lost so much muscle mass in the time I've been almost 100% bedbound. I'm still having issues getting out of bed, but I'm able to get up and not feel like I'm actively dying every single day. Which is a huge step up. Guys I absolutely believe I was slowly dying.

Wear your damn masks. Covid isn't over. And there is no guarantee that #truvada will do anything for you at all. Do not catch covid. It's not worth the permanent issues. Wear your masks. Stay home. I'm begging

It has definitely helped a lot in terms of the constant headaches, my head felt like it was being bashed around daily. I still have hella fatigue, but almost all of the HIV adjacent symptoms have lessened to a degree that I'm actually able to eat at least one meal a day now. Before I was eating about 3-4 meals a week because I was so sick. I'm still sick but functioning a little better now. I was literally feeling like I was dying before truvada, it took about a month to start working but I'm feeling a lot less like I'm actively dying now. Which is a win. A win is a win fam.

Was going to go to sleep but my body was demanding snacks. First time I've managed to eat this much in the entire 8 months that I've been unwell.

Does anyone know how long #truvada for #LongCovid takes to work? I'm on day 3

A few days ago, I wrote about breathing normally again after 2.5 years of #LongCOVID. But I didn’t say why.

A month ago, I began off-label treatment with #Truvada plus probiotics following discussions with @Dbdugger. I am one of his #TruvadaTroopers.

Can I prove it? No. Only recent change? Yes. Are there gaurantees? No. Are there risks? Yes. Is it my best hope? Maybe.
