Spent an afternoon in Vermont a few years ago and found these massive polypores on a tree in a town square! One had fallen off at some point and it was easily a foot and a half across.

y’know, when I first started messing with ai generated art, it never occurred to me that I would ever use the prompt:

`pasta bolognese propaganda poster that doesn't result in trypophobia`

and yet, here we are.

of course, in response, adobe firefly helpfully made the posters *even more* triggering of trypophobia. :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

I'd post the picture here, but I suspect there's some trypophobic people who would not appreciate it, so I will post it behind a CW.

I subscribe to a daily email of the local police blotter, because I'm old, and at the bottom of every email there's an ad about how "Sugar Doesn't Cause Diabetes! This does!" and it's always a picture of something that triggers my trypophobia (fear of lots of holes packed together). And the picture never has anything to do with diabetes, like today it's a weirdly spotted frog. Or someone's skin with some weird ailment that gives them holes. Or a bee hive.

The first time I heard of #trypophobia I was like, wtf? Who is scared of holes? How do you make a phone call? (back when we still all had landlines!)

Then one day I saw Lotus Boob* and just about puked my meal from 3 days before.

In my case it’s not a fright of holes as much as being revoltingly disgusted by certain types of organic ones. Artificial ones are fine. Knitting is hella fine. Cheese is 👌

But show me a dried lotus pod and I gag and panic. Fun!

*don’t Google it, trust me
