William S. Burroughs, the infamous author of Junky & Naked Lunch, was 1 of the earliest outspoken critics of the commercialization of #psilocybin + LSD.
As early as 1961, he expressed doubts about it + drew attention to the fact that Tim Leary worked closely with the Luces (of Time/Life/CIA/Skull+Bones). He also included a warning about the monopolization of #tryptamines in 1964's The Nova Express + spoke of the CIA's ties to the #LSD industry in 1981.
