At 800 AM AST: the center of Tropical Storm Bret was located near latitude 13.4 North, longitude 63.6 West. Bret is moving toward the west near 18 mph (30 km/h)…the center of Bret will continue moving westward away from the Windward Islands and across the eastern and central Caribbean Sea during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts… and Bret is expected to dissipate over the central Caribbean Sea by Saturday night or Sunday.

Bret is moving toward the west near 14 mph, this general motion with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next several days. On the forecast track, the center of Bret is expected to approach the Lesser Antilles on Thursday, move across the Lesser Antilles late Thursday and Thursday night, and then move westward across the east/central Caribbean Sea Fri & Sat.

6/20/23 Tropics Update

The previous NHC outlook at 8AM ET mentioned some positive news. It's likely that Bret will get sheared off and dissipate within 5 days, should current trends continue. Another update will be likely within the next couple of hours (By 2PM ET), but I won't be around to see and post it unfortunately.
