A walk in the Maple forest. Centre écologique Fernand-Seguin (Late November 2022)
This small Maple forest was the site of a sugar shack but now it's a nature preserve. It's part of a growing set of spaces including Ile St. Bernard, Ruisseau St. Jean and a green corridor that connects Chateauguay to Lery along the shores of Lac-St-Louis. The goal is to protect and promote #biodiversity in our suburban environment.

Sunday I went for a stroll along Chateauguay's shoreline on Lac-St-Louis in the Ile-St-Bernard nature preserve.
The sandy beach is peppered with the exposed tree roots of standing trees as well as many uprooted trees.
