The #Kalpa Desktop is perfectly usable, don't let the Alpha status scare you.

From a desktop perspective, it's extremely similar to using #Tumbleweed, warts and all. It isn't going to corrupt your Hard Drive, make hair grow on your palms, or bring peace without honor.

It's got some rough edges, yes. This is how developing things goes, we get better over time. I know the Alpha status scares a lot of potential users off. But it will move to Beta when it's ready to move to Beta.

I will legit use #OpenSUSE #Slowroll over #Tumbleweed.

I'm still coming to grips with #tumbleweed - that is with their timeliness of updates and overall stability. It still surprises me.

Another sizeable #opensuse #tumbleweed update replete with firmware & kernel updates.

Checks 4.0 on deck (Navy lingo meaning all systems are good to go).

I've settled down a bit after an initial #distrohopping adventure ever since #ubuntu starting worrying me. Here's what I've settled down on now, after experimenting with different setups:

1. #opensuse #tumbleweed and #nixos on my primary and experimental laptops
2. #chezmoi to synchronize dotfiles
3. #nix #packagemanager to manage command line utilities across distros with #homemanager
4.i. #kdeplasma + #lattedock + #touchegg preferred on #opensuse
4.ii. #i3wm on #nixos

@thelinuxcast I also had problems with #vivaldi after an update on #opensuse #tumbleweed.
I had to delete all files in .config/vivaldi/Default/GPUCache
I also deleted all "GPUCache" - folder within .config
Since that time vivaldi works well again.

The last two days I've been dealing with 10 min hang times on reboot/shutdowns with #opensuse #tumbleweed. Tried a lot of fixes, but nothing worked.

Come to find out, a rather forgotten and seemingly innocuous change that I made to the Splash Screen was the culprit all this time. Going to Settings>Appearance>Splash Screen and resetting to Default has my computer purring like a kitten again :crazy:
