People who are working with #npm #monorepo's, if I have a package (eslint config) in the monorepo that is used as `devDependency` in other package from the same repo, and that other package is going to be published. Does this `devDependency` has to be published too? Or can it stay private? I really don't see sense publishing it, but also couldn't find information whether npm cares about devDeps...
Also tagging #nx #lerna #turborepo #pnpm #javascript, in case you guys maybe know the answer.

Iโm wondering who has tried Vercelโs new Turbopack (replacement for Webpack) and how it compares with Vite.
Any experience with their Turborepo? Iโd love to hear about that too!

๐ Post: Configuring Turborepo for a SvelteKit monorepo
This post provides an overview of configuring a #Turborepo for a monorepo with #SvelteKit apps and dependencies. It also looks at potential pitfalls when you configure your first Turborepo.

Since the hashtag is totally empty for me on here, I'll start it:
Anyone on the #fediverse want to talk to #turborepo, let me know :D.

Taking a proper look at #Turborepo for a project that could have multiple sites (eg. main site and docs site) and multiple packages (which you could also transpile and publish to npm) all interoperable in a single repo. So far so good. Check it out. https://turbo.build/repo
@paularmstrong we (i.e. *I)* see more a lot more potential for #turborepo at least! caching is good, but ultimately the goal is to understand your repo and structure it better. I think the static analysis can go a lot further than it does today.
I know it is basically a rewrite of Vercel documentation, but at least it comes with a nice example ๐

For the #developer #win today:

If you're building a new web site/app and think that a monorepo might be the way to go (which it may very well be), consider it early so that you're not like me and trying to make sense of lots of errors that happen all at once when trying to migrate later.
(Note to self, just set up a monorepo right away!).

#turborepo + #pnpm + beta appDir #nextjs + #prisma for a random personal project cause i'm a glutton for punishment... going to be a fun(?) ride.. ๐ฅ

I"ve spent some time over the past few days diving into create-t3-app, and while the learning curve is real, the benefits should be pretty amazing.
The combination of #prisma, #typescript, and #trpc makes for a type-safe API on the #database of my choosing, and with #turborepo, I can set up a monorepo that houses a #nextjs app and a #reactnative app under one roof.
I'm really digging this so far. Pretty insane for a community-built stack!

I have to try #Turborepo with #Angular.
This looks quite straightforward!
