It's #tax day in the U.S. and this year I decided not to let TurboTax win by e-filing with one of its competitors for free. I used the IRS's official list of free file tax prep programs to find FreeTaxUSA, where I qualified for free federal and state tax returns.

As usual, I waited until nearly the very last minute to file my #taxes. I've used #TurboTax for decades & felt stuck with it but it is buggy this year! Right numbers in the end, but weird how they got there. I ditched them for a #FreeFiling provider & saved myself some money. It's more work, but hey.

TurboTax made an error years back that's gonna eventually come back to bite me on the butt: Thought the error was mine but see that this program *asks* & would have kept me from screwing up.

Either #TurboTax users take way longer than the estimated 45m to finish "Race Mode", or their 100% means that I'm actually 100th percentile for finishing my #taxes.
