#YAML was just one example, I'm open to other formats.

I actually made a complain the other day about the #Gradle #BuildSystem where I said I don't think it's a good idea to allow "crazy stuff" in your build file.

Having a full #TuringComplete language for your build file allows for interesting features, but in practice it tends to be poorly engineered and thus hard to maintain.

I think package.json's declarative approach is "almost perfect", it just needs comments.

Biggest problem with #Gradle is that it uses a #TuringComplete language with nice facilities for embedding a #DSL.

Plugin authors eat that shit up and love to invent new syntax.

That means every project will ever its own dialect of Gradle, making knowledge transfer difficult.
