The great annual baby snapping turtle migration has begun! This could be an old-school disney film. First, they leave their birthing place by the creek. They have to avoid cows, coyotes, and cars as they trek up the escarpment, across the lagoon, another hill, cross the busy driveway, through a long sugar beet field, across the two neighbours fields, and finally find mama at the pond beside the cemetery.

It rained Monday after a dry spell, and the eastern box turtles (Terrapene carolina carolina) were out in force. I found five during my two walks, which is a record for me. All seemed healthy and happy. Hope they had a good nesting season ... #TurtlesOfMastodon #Turtles #athensohio

Found this little guy while at work cleaning up storm damage. I safely moved his little butt away from the roadside and he's back where he belongs.

#Today on a Mon 4 weeks a ago I nearly stepped on this baby box turtle,Spoons via @Uncleharvey which I tweaked to be Spooner. She is becoming more confident in her habitat, swimming in the big pool but sleeping in the fake greenery in the shallow area. When she’s hungry she extends her neck like a T. rex while I drop protein pallets in her water. She’s grown!!

I bought new strips for the Little Guy’s glucometer but didn’t realize his monitor is now obsolete, the strips need to be returned. Big shout out to Chewy once again for having excellent customer service!! Nice gentlemen informed me that I will be reimbursed my $57.00 but to pass them forward to someone that could use them.😍

It's been one week since I found Mikey being harassed by Canadian geese in the park and brought him home. He seems to be doing good and loves him some shrimp and earthworms.

How is everyone's day going? I just got back from a 1-year-old birthday party and I'm about to take several puffs and sit down for a break.
