@benbloodworth Agreed. I have 3 Mastodon apps in my arsenal. #IceCubes for every day, #Tusker when I want to efficiently interact with the platform, and #Toot! when I want good comment threading. It’s great how many options are out there.

Whenever I just want to interact with Mastodon or Pixelfed—no muss, no fuss—I always find myself using #Tusker. It feels so speedy, efficient, and well designed. It would be my top app but for there isn’t an option to see if a post has comments. I like seeing if there are so I can join the conversation. That’s the only thing holding me back on this being my full time app.

But it will always have a place on my home screen because it just works so well.

#Tusker is proving to be a very capable #Pixelfed client for iOS. You don’t get all of the features of the web interface, but it’s easy to use and lightweight. Yet another feather in its cap for being one of my favorite Mastodon clients.

I have now installed #GoToSocial on my self-hosting server and loving it so far. Of course not as polished and feature-rich as #Mastodon but really nice to use with #Elk in the browser and #Tusker on mobile. Give my semi-serious account a follow! @captnc

#MastodonClientReview : Done with #Mona basically because it has no functional benefit over #Tusker but it costs money to have basic features.
Right now, I REALLY think #Tusker is going to be my main #MastodonClient , and I may continue to use #Metatxt or #IceCubes for when I want to share original content here in my #Slut Bear Porn account.

One problem I have had, many times, on both #twitter and #tusker is when a post only makes sense if you look at the posters home page or pinned posts

IMO, you shouldn't need to do that, or the poster should tell you that you need to do that

@rainy I have tried the Mastodon app, #Metatext, #tooot, #Ivory, #Tusker and #IceCubes, and I definitely prefer #IceCubes.

Current client status:

• #Mastonaut on Mac
• mostly #Toot! on iOS, partially #Mastoot for its better timeline read count. Occasionally #Tusker.

Also, sometimes, the web interface.

I ended up never using Trunk (which is now called ThinkSocial).

Even with its one missing feature ( access to iCloud for file posting ) #Tusker is my new favorite in the # MastodonClientReview … this is the one to follow as they dev it up.

Ok #Tusker , ok. This is some strong work. Features I havent seen anywhere else, well organized Settings, and just some really good ideas. Gonna put some funds in their tip jar and hope they add alternate image and video file sources like iCloud Drive. … also the draw something thing! That’s neat and I can see myself using that.

Can’t share images or videos from anywhere but Photos.
The rest of the nav is real clear and easy. Kinda want the account switching to be one less tap, but it is still among the best I’ve seen.

@idlewild well, it’s a mystery of sorts. One downside to #IceCubesApp compared to #Tusker is that it’s doesn’t encourage you to put image descriptions like Tusker which is what I like about that app…

So it looks like #Tusker and other clients would need to add significant client side support to make #Lemmy a nice experience. #MastoDev #ActivityPub
