Hi All!
I’ve been considering to move away from #iCloud for a while now. Apparently I’m in « luck » today: my appleID seems corrupted, I can’t use any their services… I should have put my eggs into more and better baskets earlier!

Do you know of guides on how to migrate your data and get better #privacy?
- Best mail/contacts/calendar service (#proton , #tutanota ?)
- photos: online or on a sinology?
- any chance to retrieve my purchased songs and movies, or are they DRM-locked

@Tutanota @ShaunKL My wish list for the #Tutanota #Linux client:
1. The ability to resize and hide columns
2. A #Flatpak that respects my chosen desktop environment's theme/colors/dark mode
3. MOST importantly: the ability to sync mail and calendars from other providers

I’ve been trialing both @Tutanota and @protonmail as a replacement for #Google and #iCloud mail and calendar and I am torn:

#ProtonMail has an excellent (but less secure than Tutanota) bridge app that integrates Proton Mail directly into my desktop mail client, but their #iPad app is not to my liking & it doesn’t have a native #Linux client.

#Tutanota has a superior iPad app IMO, but their desktop app PALES in comparison to #Thunderbird with the Proton Bridge.

Seit einigen Tage teste ich den Mail-Dienst #anonaddy, wie er von #KuketzBlog empfohlen wurde. Beim Empfang ist alles okay. Als ich jetzt auf eine Alias-Mail geantwortet habe, kam die nach Stunden mit Fehler zu mir zurück. Inzwischen fand ich heraus, dass ich mich mit DMARC, SPF und DKIM beschäftigen müsste. Sorry, nicht meine Baustelle.

Dann vielleicht wieder zurück zu #tutanota?

Heute "offiziell" - 20 Kg nach 3,5 Monaten
Leider ist mein #tutanota t shirt jetzt nur mehr ein Sack ^^

#Tutanota team is it possible to add a delete button for aliases?

Vorrei cambiare con #protonmail o #tutanota , però ho una ciorte incredibile: praticamente il mio nuovo client di posta preferito, #thunderbird , non è compatibile con nessuno dei due.

@abstractcow I looked at hosting my own mail but as others have stated, getting other domains to not see it as spam seemed not near worth the effort. I've used both #tutanota and #protonmail and been happy with both.

It's weird that I can't export my contacts from #Tutanota in the Android app. I wanted to import them into the system contacts. I had to go to my desktop and export them, and then email them to myself.

@Tutanota And since #tutanota is a DE company, and it's midnight there, somebody is surely having an unpleasant night right now, having to fix it.

Recently switched to @Tutanota for email, encrypted calendar and contacts – and happily recommend for service/software quality *and* usability.

Linux/Android software are both a pleasure to use, and inspire trust :)

The AppImage desktop integration is 💯

If you wonder:

1) Why switch email providers to #Tutanota ?

2) Roadmap/features I look forward to or would like to see?

Hey, @Tutanota, could we have custom time periods for event reminders, please? mastoinnocent

I'd really love to get a reminder exactly 2.5 hours before an event, but currently, I can only choose between 30 minutes, 1 hour and 1 day. Also, the earliest reminder is 1 week before the event, so there's no way to have #Tutanota remind me a couple weeks before someone's birthday to buy a present… mastosob

Allowing a custom number before the noun shouldn't be too hard, I think ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Te explico mi jerarquía para evitar phishing y Spam. (Perdón por la poca síntesis)

Datos importantes:

Datos sensibles, no tu cumpleaños, datos que te agarras la cabeza si te los roban o filtran. Por ejemplo, datos bancarios. (Uso #tutanota para bancos, por poner un ejemplo)

También lo uso con plataformas que creo pueden ser responsables con mis datos, pero necesitan mi tarjeta de crédito, ejemplo #Netflix #Spotify #Steam Etc.

Datos no tan relevantes:

El resto de las cosas (blogs, foros, redes, etc) uso máscaras. Uso un servicio llamado #Anodaddy que es #opensource
tiene plug-ins para los navegadores populares y una app para #android que se puede descargar desde #FDroid

Este servicio te deja crear hasta 20 emails con diferentes nombres y podés activar y desactivar las notificaciones individualmente y que lo redireccione a mi email de Tutanota

Ejemplo:
Blogs@anodaddy (Pongo todos los blogs)
Videojuegos@anoddady (pongo todo lo relacionado a suscripciones de juegos)

Esto lo que logra son dos cosas, primero evitar el spam, porque siempre desactivo casi todas esas cuentas que me creo sin sentido y segundo me paso que se filtraron algunos de mis emails mascaras (siempre se filtran esos) y me llegaban correos diciendo. Te vas a quedar sin cuenta de netflix si no actualizas los datos de tu cuenta, ingresa tu tarjeta de crédito en tu cuenta de Blogs@anodaddy

XD No tengo cuenta en #netflix con ese email, y ya intentaron lo mismo con #spotify y con cuentas de criptos.

Esto también me ayuda a organizarme porque le pongo nombres por categoría para recordarlas por las dudas, ejemplo inseguro@anodaddy y la uso para cosas que no tengo idea de la seguridad, pero las quiero probar. (Si tenés una forma de guardar todas tus Contraselas/Credenciales como #Keepass o #Bitwarden es muy sencillo)
