Howard Carter, Lord Carnarvon and Lady Evelyn opened 's tomb on November 26, 1922. When asked, Howard Carter said he could see 'wonderful things'. Later he described it 'the most wonderful day of my life', 'everywhere the glint of gold'.

Lord Carnarvon made it to Luxor on November 24 where Howard Carter had waited patiently his arrival. They proceeded to open 's tomb on November 26. This historic photo is from Luxor station.

There were 35 hardwood ritual figures in 's tomb. This Tut is riding a leopard and it is one of two such figures found in Treasury.

This small golden shrine was found in the Antechamber of 's tomb. Its decoration shows Ankhesenamun, Tut's wife, in her loving wifely duties, sitting at hunting Tut's feet etc. From the last exhibition.

This seal was untouched in 's tomb. It was actually a seal to King Tut’s fifth shrine. The king was buried in a series of four sarcophagi, which were in turn kept inside a series of five shrines.

This is my favourite item in 's tomb. It is a golden fan with a hunting seen. This pharaoh's tomb suggests that he was very fond of hunting and riding in horse drawn buggies. It is from yesteryear's exhibition from London.

There was no wall between the burial chamber and the treasury in 's tomb. The view was dominated by an Anubis statue and the golden shrine. This room was only accessed through the burial chamber in 1923 and it was catalogued much later, four years after the finding of the tomb
