I designed and printed this #TVCoG bath bomb floating diffuser for our Program and Events Manager Liz's birthday (a couple days late). I tested it to make sure that it floats at least for a few minutes but I have no idea how it will work with fizzy bath bombs. So Liz's birthday present is basically that she gets to beta test my design. #MadeAtTheCoG #3DPrinting

TVCoG will be hosting a member-run locksport workshop during Social Night on the 21st!

This workshop will be a hands-on demonstration of how locks work, and how lock mechanisms can be bypassed.

Attendees will be introduced to an enjoyable hobby and gain a greater understanding of everyday security vulnerabilities.
Picks and locks will be provided, and those with experience are encouraged to bring their own to share!

Tonight one of our members was changing the blade on the tablesaw and accidentally dropped the retaining nut. Of course, it went right into the dust collection intake. #woodworking #TVCoG

A little background. Bixby was found hiding in a hardware store in Massachussets where my aunt works. The pads of his paws had burns on them, possibly from hot pavement or walking through some kind of chemical. The vet said he was otherwise okay and so he came home with us. When I decided to give this book to #TVCoG I thought I should get a picture of Bixby with it before it left the house. (Spoiler: the book contains no plants or cats.) #caturday

The Maker’s Pace #running team (I use the word loosely) at the finish of the #Troy #TurkeyTrot 10K. #TVCoG

Finished! There were three of us from #TVCoG (Team Maker’s Pace) doing the 10K #Troy #TurkeyTrot. Im pretty sure I could have run it in shorts and a tee but I was glad for long pants and sleeves at the start and finish. 28°F (-2°C) at the start, 32°F (zero C) at the finish. Only problem was that the pants I bought are too big. With my phone in the rear pocket my pants were falling down. I ended up putting the phone in my sleeve. #running

I'm a systems engineer with GE (or what's left of it). Industrial automation by day, Dadding, tinkering, arting, ballroom dancing, making and axe-flinging by night.

I helped found the Tech Valley Center Of Gravity, a makerspace/incubator/prototyping center in Troy, NY.

I used to make a lot of chainmaille and run the Center's 3d-printing zone, but now I'm mostly making home improvements and kid solutions!
