December is the month of the Gemini, a #meteor shower that uses to produce quite bright shooting stars. On this #APOD #picture is showing a bright and long #fireball meteor. It is produced by a grain of dust entering the #Earth atmosphere at about twice the re-entry velocity of #NASA's #Artemis 1 #Orion capsule.

#Spectacular #circumpolaris #starTrail captured a couple weeks ago by Dario Giannobile from the #Etna #volcano in #Sicily, #Italy. #Night #photography in volcanic places is really challenging because #basalt is pretty #dark.
This #picture is just #awesome because the foreground is really clear, enlightened by the #Moon #light, which give some great perspective.

Impressive #photography of the #night #sky by Petr Horálek (#TWAN) from San Pedro de Atacama 🇨🇱 , taken over 180º (top: E ; bottom: W) with the #MilkyWay crossing the sky and a #Magellan cloud visible on the left.
In this #picture, we see scattering light near the horizons. It was actually taken in January 22, short after a major volcanic eruption of the #Tonga #volcano, almost 10 000km away. The volcanic #dust are illuminated by #sunlight, which give the paticular red tint at the bottom.
