I think people will hate, but I think #Twitter or #X giving money to #creators is really good.

Seeing a lot of slap fights over #quote #tweeting and #notification feedback and #alttext and other aspects of the #Mastodon experience, and I'm wondering why more people aren't just standing up their own #federated #instances rather than telling the tides to stop on existing instances of Mastodon, which just seems to invite more #resistance to these ideas in the first place.

I mean sure you can try browbeating the entire community but I don't really know that it's going to get you anywhere you wanted to be, unless you just wanted to be in a pointless and unattractive #argument. And if for whatever reason standing up a separate instance for you and the like minded, really isn't in the cards -- fine, but there's hella better ways to build consensus than picking a fight in a place built out of people with free time.

@sfoskett One feature of #mastodon I hope never gets implemented is quoting. Quote #tweeting on #Twitter is often done maliciously.

The reason why people are sticking around #twitter despite its drastic change, I think is rooted in how automatic the sight became. People have dedicated copious amounts of their own time (the last decade) #tweeting, And now they have to give it up because the worlds richest man bought it for personal reasons, and is ensconced in go away heat & energy.
The need to “post” is ingrained in us now. The fact that this site has become a digital refuge center for former tweeters, is proof.
