Hi, I'm a #Twefugee. Software Engineer by trade, but a big supporter of objective Truth and facts. I'm a news junkie and like minded journalists are some of my favorite people, hence why I'm here on federated.press.

Our most immediate societal problem is people living in misinformation bubbles. As society grows more complex people need better access to information, not worse.

I'm against authoritarian populists like Trump and Elno using misinformation for money and power. #introduction

I think I'm a 1st-wave #twefugee in one sense, but in another, I've had two Mastodon accounts before this one -- but never very active.

I think you'll find that celebrity status doesn't mean a whole lot here. I don't think that the long-timers (6 months and longer, from my perspective as a 1st wave #Twefugee) subscribe to folks like George.

Now I *like* George. I have liked him for a long time; I've met him in person (yeaars ago). But his toots just don't interest me. They're the old twitter formula, which looks kind cringy here, tbh. :)

I'm sure it won't come to that, but I don't know how we can police #Twefugee behavior without sounding obnoxious.

I'm thankful for the few that I have interacted with that have actually listened & been interested in "how we do things."

Maybe we just need to push one giant "We don't do that here" meme to all new users, U2 style ^__^
