Introduction

#Twelfthtide is the season from #Christmas until the twelfth day, #Epiphany. In my mothertongue we call it “Rauhnächte”. Some count them from #Wintersolstice, some count them from New Year’s Eve. They are the time of no-time. 

Their origin may be the old attempt to fit the lunar #cycles to the solar #calendar as the #moon changes twelve times within 354 days. 

In myth these are the #nights when demons and ghosts appear and strange dreams haunt one. For me, it's truly the time of intensive dreaming but I love these #dreams. They bear awesome stories and most of them are not scary at all. So, this year’s turning I wrote the dreams down to become #shortstories:

Today is #wintersolstice in the Northern hemisphere and #summersolstice in the Southern.

It's a remarkable time for me and from today on the #twelfthtide starts, but for most people it begins with 25th. Here, Northern Europe, as the nights are long, this tradition is set a bit earlier.

It's the time of #dreams and so I will start the next #shortstory with 12 weird dreams, for each #twelvenight just one.

As I got more than just 12 nights, I can choose which dreams are good to write about 😉
