This had to be one of the highlights of our visit to Australia, three years ago today. In just 48 hours, our Australian Adventure would be over, and the world would be thrown into turmoil. Part of the Twelve Apostles Stone Circle north of Dumfries, Scotland’s largest stone circle. The eleven stones (there would originally have been eighteen) form a slightly "squashed" circle about 86m in diameter. The Great Ocean Walk from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles is a hike that covers approximately 100km in seven days. Even if you're not into hiking and camping, the Great Ocean Road is a stunning drive and worth doing as a daytrip.
This time last year, @verdigriis & me did the hike with a moderate amount of preparation & training, survived, and enjoyed the experience (despite storms, mud, and bitey insects).
I think we're extremely fortunate to have this extraordinarily beautiful landscape and wildlife right here on our doorstep in Victoria.
