I suspect one of the reasons why some #Twexiters don't like Mastodon is because it's not nearly as easy to dunk on someone here.

Nobody's been able to explain to me in a convincing way why that's a bad thing.

Quick startup tips for new #twexiters

1) Mastodon is a lake. Your server is a boat. You can talk to other people in other boats. Pick the boat that is least likely to capsize. You can move to a different boat easily.

2) Hashtags. Find people and discussions by searching, clicking on, and following hashtags. It's how Twitter used to work.

3) ASK FOR HELP. Plenty of people willing to help you with any questions or issues.

4) GIVE IT TIME. You're not going to learn it all in one day.

#Twexiters: if your entire feed since you got here has been "Quote Toot" dunks of Twitter content, then you'll have to excuse me for not lending much credence to your complaints about the #Mastodon community.

I think maybe you'd be happier in Elon's world, because even without 2FA, a comprehensible verification paradigm, and any remaining sense of logic or common sense, Twitter at least still lets you indulge your bad habits.
