I don't know what to think about feeling like yesterday/today we had a fun game of #TwilightImperium. I've ended up last out of everyone with my score, but it's nice to feel like I can have some acquaintances. Even the "backstabs" in the game did not bother me that much.

Still - I'd like to avoid doing the "revenge bedtime procrastination" after it. 😅

I had the chance to play #TwilightImperium again on Saturday. I was playing as The Nekro Virus, a robotic faction that can't research technologies, instead copying them when you destroy an enemy ship in combat. I'm fairly conflict-averse in games like this, which should run against this faction's strengths, but knowing that fighting me makes me stronger worked as a deterrent, too. Unfortunately, while I did get 10 points, I wasn't the first one to 10. Fun game, though! #BoardGame #BoardGames

Finished a super fun game of #async #TwilightImperium yesterday. As Cabal I managed to get Dimensional Tears on most of the wormholes on the board, giving me *insane* mobility and the ability to threaten most of the board at once. 10/10 would recommend that strategy again.

Heute #TwilightImperium zu viert. Zwei erfahrene Spieler + mich und noch ein anderer absoluter Anfänger. Den Sieg haben witzigerweise am Ende wir Anfänger unter uns ausgemacht. Ich glaube ich habe durch einen Fehler aus Unerfahrenheit den Sieg sogar verschenkt, weil am Ende die Spielerreihenfolge den Ausschlag gab. Die hätte ich sogar beeinflussen können wenn ich gewusst hätte was ich da tue. Knappe Angelegenheit! Aber meist fühlte ich mich ziemlich überfordert von den Optionen

I had the wonderful opportunity to play #TwilightImperium 4th edition for the first time yesterday. It's a space civilization game of brinkmanship and politics, with simple combat that's more in service of pursuing objectives than outright war. It took most of the day and we cut the game off at 7 points instead of 10, but it was still a fantastic time. The weekend I was playing Twilight Imperium with some friends and it was *involved*. I think from learning the game to turn two took like 5 hours….

So naturally, I love it and can’t wait to play again. The rules are involved, but the dynamic it creates between players is so engaging and fun. I definitely recommend reading the back of the species card, though! Lots of great lore to inspire your role playing.

Did some #TwilightImperium last night. Naalu, Brotherhood of Yin, and Universities of Jol-Nar.
Close game with very little combat (I was the Jol-Nar, so this worked pretty well for me).

The Naalu took Mecatol Rex at the end of one turn, popped up to 7, then used the Imperial strategy and their 0-initiative ability to jump 3 points in the first round of the next turn. Good game.

I'm also a huge #boardgaming nerd! A while back we played #twilightimperium with friends. It took us over 12 hours to finish! I love deep and challenging #boardgames like this!
