Hi all. One of my colleagues is looking for a way to use a twitter.js file to generate an archive of tweets. Our customer wants to then import that into their #WordPress site.

If I'm doing my math right, it should be possible to fetch all tweets of all accounts I follow in a day, following the rate limits.

There's rumors of the API cutting out at 3,000 or 3,200 tweets per users, I guess I'll find out. More than half the accounts I follow have more, with 10% above 50k.

Next, fetched 35 307 photos from 132 238 tweets crawled from my #TwitterArchive. Took about 12h and 7.5GB.

Added photos.py to https://github.com/FiloSottile/mostly-harmless/tree/main/hydrate-twitter-archive if you're playing along.

Interestingly, in the process I found three tweets for which #Twitter apparently lost the attached picture. Two from 2012, one from 2016.

Your #TwitterArchive doesn't contain any tweets or profiles of other people. Even the accounts you follow or DM'd are only reported as IDs. Your likes have the full text but not the author.

If you have an API key lying around, these scripts will fairly quickly fetch all tweets and users it can find crawling your archive, and going through threads and RTs.

Hi @flauschzelle , I just finished my postprocesser (small Bash script) which patches the single monthly files of https://github.com/timhutton/twitter-archive-parser to get one single Twitter Timeline with all media. It's feasible, I like it.
