I remember lists for law, history, and journalists and those were just the ones I saw. Something similiar to that would be a great resource to have prepared

@bresserphotospete I initially joined fosstodon during one of the big #TwitterMigrations and it was great for open source software but there was a lot of US folk on there. I now follow a lot of them but wanted my 'local' feed to have a more UK feel as the US cultural references were lost on me.

My favorite part about the #TwitterMigrations is people joining Mastodon and then talk shit about it on Twitter because Mastodon is not more twitterish.

I mean, that’s the point, from the technical side to the community side.

@chad Being new to Mastodon, and recalling that I initially agreed to instance rules. Is there a way to find and review those rules again when my foggy brain won't recall some fine distinctions of those rules.

Ogni novità ha un suo prezzo. Il carico eccessivo di nuovi iscritti che sta subendo #mastodon, che ne rallenta la gestione ne è la prova. Un successo forse inaspettato per chi era abituato a gestire una mole di utenti decisamente più ridotta.

Also, wondering if there's an automatic way of turning on 'unlisted' for threads engagement and replies. So that I can skip the extra click or tap to actively select the unlisting my replies to myself and others...

It feels to me there should be a “virtual” level on here that allows followers/followings to be seen regardless of underlying community/server. We would then all be users of Mastodon at that level. Discovery is not a great experience with how it is currently. This structure may not suit growth very well so some re-engineering may be required, regardless
