Just did a random check on my locked Twitter account. TWO more accounts had followed me without my approving them. A month ago, I deleted everything in Twitter. Including all my followers (yes, I did that manually, I wanted my account wiped clean.) So, I immediately notice if Twitter is wonky. It is wonky. There should not be any way for unapproved followers to be added into a LOCKED account. Be aware that your locked accounts aren't as private as you might think. #TwitterPrivacy

For the avoidance of doubt, the idea that engineers regulate their own work is absolutely non-compliant with UK/EU data protection requirements.

Also, they absolutely must have a Data Protection Officer. I put in a rights request to Twitter about this and we’ll see what response I get, if any.

The penalties for GDPR breaches are capped at 4% of annual turnover (if over a certain figure). Twitter was fined €450m by the regulator last year.
