I worry that #Mastodon will soon become the target of intense trolling and info operations, if some of that hasn't started already (I saw some odd posts under the Twitter hashtag yesterday).

It's already known that these hatemongers aren't content to occupy their own space — the whole purpose of their existence is to destroy what other people build and cherish (the cruelty is the point). Really hope admins can work together to share learning; the curve will be steep.
