This is the first time in this proper community where the discourse had needed multiple attempts to make sure everyone has a clear understanding of what everyone else means.

Back in the #twatterverse I'd have just ignored it and moved forward. Here I'm looking for clarity then I will make a decision because I have a hard time working out who trolls are and what their agenda is.

But I owe it to myself to ensure I don't ever get it wrong because I want this community to survive and I want to maintain my capacity to interact with far better people than I ever found in the #twitterverse at a level I choose, on subjects I chose at times I choose.

It isn't automatic that folks understand the anagrams and the alphabetics. Nor should it need to be automatic that we all understand those. It needs to be clearly understood that here we can choose our correspondents.

Another great reason to get off the #Twitterverse once and for all.

I've had enough of the #metaverse , the #twitterverse , and the #spiderverse. Take me back to the #fetaverse

I am really enjoying this break from the toxic #twitterverse. The posts I have seen on Mastodon so far are more engaging, and much better written.

The userbase may be smaller (for now), but just like when I joined the Internet in the 90's, it was the calibre of the people rather than sheer numbers.

One less thing to worry about in #twitterverse

All great things eventually come to an end. Yet, when one door closes a draft may open another like #mastodon

How will I know when #Mastodon has pretty much taken over the #Twitterverse? When I see cnn.com, propublica, CNET, axios and many other news organizations figure out how to create instances with accounts for their major sections and reporters, where people who are interested can pick and choose what they are interested in seeing in their Mastodon freed. Might be a while.
