I'll admit, I was confused by the quote "Build a community not an audience". Maybe many of us were.

I thought it was aimed at #TwitterVIP #journalists who never follow anyone back, and only want a one-way conversation. 😅

For the record, #MutualAid requests, artists, musicians, and any other folks here who need an audience to earn a living have my full support. ❤️

One difference between #Twitter and #Mastodon is a lack of (creepy) algorithms promoting what we all see.

Most #TwitterVIP #journalists only follow a few here. That's due to Twitter's feudal status and power dynamic.

But here, when we #FollowBack our Home feeds get more active, when we #Boost often, this amplifies great content.

#Mastodon is all about organic engagement.
