There is literally nothing stopping #AOC from having access to both #fedi and the #doomsdayMachine, (we mean- #falsebook).

We struggle to see her as a truly #progressive voice. In our experience, the sorts of #identityPolitics we have seen coming out of the #twoPartySystem in the #USA, is a manufactured #falseChoice-type dichotomy, to divide people in simplistic ways, rather than bring people together on things, eg. privacy.

Our preferential system of voting gives Australians the opportunity to loosen the stifling grip of the two party system while maintaining political stability.

For the most part, we are only given two choices in terms of government, so you should almost never give your first preference to the Coalition or Labor. Put your preferred government (out of those two) second.

You can even put them further down the list, as long as you preference them above the government you want to avoid. The only time this doesn't apply is when you are offered no viable alternatives.

Research the others. See who else might better represent you. Make them number one. We don't have to live in Groundhog Day.

I'm a Green, but this is not just for Greens voters.

Under #starmer i fear we will have a version of the right albeit with bit more prevarication. Moving from #twopartysystem has never been more crucial. And by dismantling our rights to protest, strike etc etc we wander into a dangerous muddy swamp.

The inability of the House to elect a House Speaker is a perfect display of the flaws of the two-party system. Governments that have multi-party systems or follow the parliamentary model can form coalitions and more easily compromise. #Trump could get enough votes to cause havoc with the #ElectoralCollege. If no candidates receive 270 #electoral #votes then it goes to the #HouseOfRepresentatives and, of course, the #Democrats just lost control there.

The electoral college really needs to go. If anything coul good could ever come from Trump, maybe we can end up with a way to ditch the #TwoPartySystem.
