@canfaniac Most workers in Canada don't get guaranteed raises every year at all. For them, inflation eats at their buying power and they hope that sometime, at some indefinite point in the future, they might get a raise that brings them back to parity with their buying power a year or three back...

But these workers, with no guarantee of raises at all, need to pay generous guaranteed raises to public sector workers because of inflation that they themselves aren't protected from?
