@virginia The big #FountainPen brands like #Lamy, #Pilot, #Sailor and #TWSBI seem to calibrate their edition sizes to sell out in 6-12 months, typically.

It is beautiful, writes beautifully, has a piston filling mechanism, can be completely disassembled for cleaning (includes the tool to do so and a pot of silicone grease), has a sealing mechanism second to none, comes in a good variety of nib sizes, and best of all, is inexpensive enough that I never have to worry about one being lost, stolen, or damaged.

Obviously running out of ink mid meeting is bad. Also, having an open cartridge pop off the feed due to jostling in transit is messy. The spare cartridge braces the open one against the feed.
