At 1653z / 01:53 local, KBS 1 is finally carrying something different too! KBS News D and KBS Korea are also back to their own programming. I think the split happened just now, as some event promos were still show on KBS News D // KBS 1.

At 1327z / 22:27 local, MBC & SBS are back to regular programming after 17-18 hours of non-stop #typhoon #Khanun coverage. KBS 1 is still running the typhoon news though, still relayed on KBS News D (w/out its logo) and KBS Korea... but NOT on KBS 1 Radio, as listened to on 711 kHz via Oita KiwiSDR. The radio simulcast finished a bit before 1400z #TyphoonKhanun

Looks like what ythls.onrender.com had picked up from YTN YouTube channel live streams (there are 6 of them atm) is a special stream showing mostly footage sent them by their Kakao Talk followers, which is different from YTN's standard TV output 🤔

Wow. Living in this town is really interesting! Whenever the weather is expected to get rough, even if it's minutes away, a blasted message from County Hall echoes throughout the land saying to prepare. I feel lucky. Not every community gets this kind of care from the top!

For a matter of fact, no sign-on on MBC. Newscast continued till about 1956z, followed by some spots incl. retrospectives of some flood preparations. There was a nice anime-style ID, after which another #Khanun newscast opened, this time hosted by OM & YL anchors rather than a single male.

So it looks like they're all running just some special newscasts, sat, 30 minutes long every 2 hours or so. Maybe the situation won't that bad? Or did advertisers have something to say?

At 1333z / 22:33 local, I see SBS doing a women's football programme, likely has sth to do w/ FIFA Women's World Cup cuurently taking place in AUS & NZL. MBC is also on w/ regular programming, some show. Interestingly, a news ticker was visible throughout preceding ad string. KBS? KBS 1 does have a newscast discussing #Khanun's impact in Kagoshima et al. Also on KBS News D... but w/ KBS 1 logo. And also on KBS Korea, w/ its own logo. #typhoon #TyphoonKhanun

At 1300z, I tried checking KBS World Radio English transmission to North America on 15575 kHz on my Airspy HF+ Discovery & ~3m dia. YouLoop, but unfortunately the signal is very weak, almost unreadable. Same IQ recording also has Voice of Korear in English on 15245.25 kHz, so while my today's schedule is tight, I'll check later on if there's any Uncle Kim-approved #Typhoon #Khanun Task Force in Best Korea, or people should rather rely on themselves. #TyphoonKhanun #shortwave
