74 followers · 555 posts · Server social.coopI have so much sympathy for #tyre manufacturers in #f1 - they are told to make tyres that degrade over a certain time with certain drop off points but get constantly criticised for having done exactly that.
Tyres can't know the difference between being pushed hard on a open track to extend a gap or being pushed hard close behind someone to overtake. I don't know how drivers (Ahem, Fernando) think they ever could. It was and will be ever thus.

The old tire was marketed under the brand "chao yang with dino skin"
It was size 20x4.0, inflate to 20psi max
It lasted approx 2700 miles.
The new tire is a "CST MTB BFT 100-406 20x4.0" inflate to 30 psi.
When I inflated it to 15 psi it was very noisy but at the full 30psi its quiet. It will be a few days before I get a chance to take it on a long run and see if the power used per mile goes down.
