Lovely walk today with my local #U3A. Millwall Inner Dock looked amazing in the sunshine.
I think I'm calling #today a success.
First problem today was my phone misbehaving. I was pretty sure the SD card was the issue.
I did a few housework jobs before #cycling to the #allotment - had a picnic lunch & dodged a shower.
Dug potatoes, picked french beans, and did a lot of tidying.
Cycled to meet Mrs Mike after her #U3A meeting.
Bike on the back of the car.
Argos for a new SD card.
Picked up the allotment stash.
Back home - phone fixed!
That's how we're rolling!

Registration is now open for my U3A short course on Thursday afternoons from 20 July.

I’m exploring putting on a critical thinking course at #U3A. It was run brilliantly years past by a member who passed away. There’d be a lot of course design etc to do. Maybe a collaboration.
#U3A can help with social connection in #retirement. (See ABC News online.) But my generation may have different expectations to my Mum’s. I see signs we are turning our minds less to information delivery and more to engagement. That’s a good thing.
#U3A (University of the 3rd age) recommenced today - I am the toddler amongst the other students. It was good to get the brain working differently again, I feel energised now. I am part student part tutor and it really is a lot of fun.

#Introduction.
I'm a retired systems designer and developer living in Canberra. For interest I research the life and work of artist S T Gill 1840-1852. I'm using a data driven approach - including historical mapping - to build a “place and time machine”. I post content from the project. I also run a couple of U3A courses and I'll post some things from the garden.

Part of a larger group of 44 from Holme Valley U3A who joined 3 town guides this morning. Amongst other things, this group actually saw the windmill and learned about the whales and the two men who went to Canada.

As covid restrictions eased a year ago I sensed we’d benefit from more social connection at #U3A. I used to love getting together with friends in my 20s to play cards so I ran a group to learn 500, Black Lady and Oh Hell. Today is the last week for the second course. It’s been great and I’ll keep it up next year.
I'm the local #U3a #Painting group and our most recent subject was #ChristmasCards
I started this there, and finished it off this afternoon, a quiet Sunday here.
An imaginary rural snow scene painted from an @artbypaulclark YT tutorial. He's a great online tutor, caters for all levels of expertise and types of watercolour painting. Has a very lively FB page.. with free weekly vids + challenges.
It's on #Baohong cotton block, great paper, it really takes washes well.

@greenwayfoods Hi there! Yes I am a member of my local #U3A. I don't get to many activities recently though, the ones I did go to, folded during covid.
Anyone else here part of the U3A? It's aimed at older folk like me, local interest groups to keep folk's brains active. I am in the local painting group, and also volunteer as part of a project transcribing old minute books of the London Underground, going back to its early years - 1850-1933 when it became London Underground. It's really interesting, if that's your bag, to see what and who was ivolved to get TfL to where it is now. I don't live in London, but transport is a thing for me..#u3a
off to #U3A to keep up with #German language and #Philosophy
German is/was my first langugage but I have such little opportunity to practise it that I am now speaking with an Aussie accent.
