My experience with my #UBass (a #Kala Scout) was mixed. I like it a lot with flatwound steel strings, but the intonation is not great on higher frets and the piezo pickups are inconsistent from one string to the next--that was the case before I switched from the polyurethane strings. If I could do it all over again, I would get a fretless.

But I've gotten a LOT of use out of it around the world. They travel much better than full-sized ones.

I rediscovered a Gillian Welch song that I have always loved, and decided I had to sing it: "Time (The Revelator)"

I'm a very amateur #musician. I try to put out a quick song every Sunday, often something I've done at an #openmic recently. There are mistakes, and I do not care. This week it's a novelty song from 1977, Dean Friedman's "Ariel," paired with the old Little Anthony and the Imperials song "Tears On My Pillow."

The video is shot with live vocals and keys on my iPhone; then I added some #UBass, a little backing vocal, and even some violas in #AbletonLive.

yeah. it's a great instrument. Can't comment on the quality of the linked ones but they're pretty. :D

On Sundays, I post a #sundaysong. They're not polished, I'm just a #musician who began pretty late in life and is slowly learning, and part of that learning is just putting music out there. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't.
