I get so pointlessly Cassandra-ish when stuff like this crops up, thinking of the “guidelines of the #ethical development of #ubiquitous systems” I first wrote up around the end of 2004, two of which were “be conservative of face” and “be conservative of time” – while it was pompous, arrogant & naive of me to assume that anyone would pay attention, if anyone *had*, then maybe we wouldn’t be designing process loops that inflict this kind of sustained misery on people.
