Here's how to make the Web bearable (whether you're #ActuallyAutistic, like me, or not):

1. Install #Firefox
2. Install the #uBlockOrigin extension
3. If you prefer dark mode, install the #DarkReader extension

That's it. Enjoy the peace and quiet. 🙂

If you still see annoyances, uBO has extra blocklists that you can enable experimentally, but you probably won't need them.

@Wubira Tengo Chrome y da la casualidad que uno de ellos tengo instalado que es el #ublockorigin pero en Chrome no hace mucho, solo hace con las páginas piratas o Youtube que en Youtube gracias a ello no veo casi anuncios y está bien.
Comprobaré en #Firefox por lo que veo en esos aspectos es mejor que #Chrome. Muchas gracias por las recomendaciones 😃🤗

@ItziPerkins Uso #Firefox. No sé si las extensiones que te voy a recomendar funcionan con otro navegador (puede que sí, pero no sé). Para evitar ser rastreado uso #PrivacyBadger y para evitar la publicidad #uBlockOrigin, y las ventanas avisando de cookies no me aparecen, y las que te piden el consentimiento tampoco (uno de los dos se encarga de marcar automanticamente todas las opciones como "rechazado". Es tan rápido que no ves ni la ventana).

En Youtube a veces sí sale la ventana del consentimiento a pese a todo (no siempre), pero es sólo una casilla la que hay que marcar manualmenter para decir "rechazar todas" y listo.

Para Youtube también puedes por usar "Invidious" que es un front end libre federado a través del cual se puede acceder al contenido de Youtube, aunque algunos no te deja verlos sin descargar el video.

Pero prueba #PrivacyBadger y #uBlockOrigin. Notarás la diferencia (y mira también por nternet cómo configurarlas, aunque no es difícil).

Anyone else has had ads on #youtube runing on #firefox with #ublockorigin ? This is the first time I see them... or not. The video was black, but the sound went through. Seems like, besides the blocking of ad blocking clients, youtube is also applying countermesures.

Is anyone else having problems watching #YouTube videos on #Firefox while having #ublockOrigin enabled? I’ve been wondering when YT forces me to switch to another platform, but I didn’t expect it to happen today.

The block/unblock reversal is nice. I think I'll use the term "web-enabler" though.

@andycarolan @aburka @rysiek Then there's accessibility. Elderly Relative simply can't use the Web without an ad-blocker: he can't parse what he's seeing, and finds it impossibly confusing. The choice is between #uBlockOrigin and no Web at all.

@Ilias I got a similar result using #Firefox, #uBlockOrigin, #Ghostery and #Decentraleyes. But I wonder what it means to have strong protection against tracking and simultaneously have a unique fingerprint. That seems like a contradiction.

Perhaps most people's browsers are so wide-open to tracking that anyone taking defensive measures immediately stands out. We should encourage others to do as we do, so that defending against trackers is the norm, not the exception.

This week, I have worked with so many different computers, I installed #Ublock like 15 times or more.

How can people live like this?? GeeksforGeeks is a great website... with an ad blocker!
Not to mention, the ads (goodle ads) are straight up disgusting.
