Just ran the last power cable to my PDU!

Just set up aggregation on my server using dual 10 gig SFP+ with DAC. Let’s see how fast this can go 🚀

can't believe it's been 8 years (-> https://yeri.be/outdoor-wifi-pegasus-park). A few more buildings interconnected and an upgrade from older #ubiquiti M2 loco to 5AC loco...

Still struggling a bit with my homelab #ubiquiti #ubnt #networking . Till now on #TPLink I had _all_ traffic split in VLANs (no native network how ubnt calls it) and there was no untagged traffic on trunk; but to leverage "All" networks option on trunk ports of ubnt switches and to get multiple VLANs to APs it seems I need to leave VLAN1 (my wired LAN) native and untagged even on router. Is that generally ok to do? I'm no expert at all... #helpneeded #help

I have a Ubiquiti Unifi AP but don't like the overhead of running the Unifi controller tool, nor that Ubnt collect user metadata.
I'd like something useful for me (advanced user) that I can also recommend for "normal people", whom I can help with the configuration.
The Mikrotik cAP ticks many boxes as a replacement, but I *hate* their complicated management UI. Is it worth learning, or are there better alternatives?
It seems like I need to run netstart twice for a #ubnt device to be able to be reachable on a bridge. It has two vlans connected to bridges. I have STP turned on each of the vlan ports but I don’t think that actually did anything. Rerunning netstart makes everything go. One bridge is the mgmt interface and the second is my wlan link via the ubiquiti device. The wlan in the ubiquiti is just a bridge to a point to point 802.11 link
