I made the #Windows transition to #Linux and took the #Ububtu route. My experience has been positive, with the greatest drawback being game support on #Steam.

Otherwise, it feels less bloated. Everything I use is on my taskbaar, and I never open the start menu. If I need to, it is sleek and clean.

I also just like the look and various tools that we can download.
With the opecomibg #POPos update coming out, I am currently creating a live boot disk to see what it is like, and then I might make the switch from Ubuntu to Popos.

Trying to fire up my own #Mastodon #server. I've heard #NixOS is the way to go but the Mastodon official site has detailed instructions for #Ububtu which is my *nix of choice. Does it matter?

I had two old USB HDDs (500GB and 4TB) that were just gathering dust in a drawer. Time to repurpose them. Reformatted and installed #ububtu. Reconfigured the #raspberrypi to boot from USB. Now I have one #RPi running #ubuntu2204 #desktop for general work and #gpio test rig; other running #ubuntu2204 server for #swift #swiftlang development and some #vapor hosting testing.

What's one of the first changes you make on a fresh install of #kubuntu #ububtu ?

So after a few hours with #ubuntu2004 Focal Fossa, I have some feedback. It is nice that firmware was updated through the software updates for the #logitech unifying receiver. I didn't appreciate a printer on the network being automatically added. Also, it is a bit buggy still in some aspects, but good enough for serious home use. It keeps my laptop running quiet and smooth. I thought it's cooling fan broke, but #windows7 just heated it up too much. It is the snappiest #ububtu I have ever used.
