@ubuntu does anyone know where could I find a list of all of the drivers available via the "additional drivers" Ubuntu app (part of "software-properties-gtk" package I believe)? Or even the URL/repo it queries?

A so-called "basic user" doesn't have fancy #nvidia GPUs and struggle with hardware drivers. They buy a prebuilt low-tier laptop and watch YouTube.
For that sort of stuff #Linux / #UbuntuLinux is way better for non tech-savvy people.

Most of the #Ubuntu troubleshooting is way beyond basic usage if you ask me.

Basic users aren't googling how to modify stuff on a computer, use NAS, use media servers or anything like that.

They just browse the web and don't want the OS asking questions.

I mean the people that say #UbuntuLinux is harder than #Windows are the folks who require stuff like CAD software etc. They are not beginners nor tinkerers.

Most old folks don't need anything fancy. They just need Gmail, Facebook and some news websites and it's probably best to also include an adblocker so they won't fall prey to scammy advertisement ("your computer has a virus! Click here to repair it!").

Stuff like signing PDF files might be a hassle but my dad wouldn't do that stuff...

I started playing the Bandit war game recently after my slump and not doing anything with Linux. Now that I’ve started again…there’s no going back. Alongside playing Bandit, I’m also watching a video series on YouTube that teaches everything from the basics up to the tasks of a SysAdmin.
