@aral @snazzyq To my defense, when announced that they want to cancel the production I kindly asked them if they want to FLOSS the form factor details further and offered to rename the project if they found the name infringing...

So far, my ticket [Case #:05916086] has yet to be replied to by Intel at all...

@thatguyoverthere @frameworkcomputer well, they do have some upgradeability and whilst they did release specs that make it possible to design drop-in preplacements, it's not some stardardized form factor unlike the [] which the SFF-SIG standardized openly...

@mntmn @liaizon it's not using the NUC element, but the board form factor aka "NUC" or oftentimes referenced as 4x4" ...

It would certainly make a board pretty chunky but AFAICT it's possible...

Personally, I think aka "" is also a feasible form factor providing ample I/O space including 2x SoDIMM slots and 2x PCIe x4 NVMe-compatible M.2 slots...
