All the people basking in how delightful Mastodon is are only in for a rude awakening if they show up for BIPOC LGBTQI+ and the people fighting the authoritarians in #Iran #Syria #Ukaine #Russia #Brazil #Greece and the #UnitedStates All of these countries and others are engaged in fighting fascists who have made recent gains in #Italy #Scandinavia #Italy and who are well established in #Greece.

I've been in the hot seat enough to know better than to adopt the fiction that Mastodon is the Promised Land.

It's not. It is a battlefield. There is much work to do but it will be satisfying all the more if we establish a vibe of mutual aid love and tolerance for comrades.
