So many things in the UK's constitution are fraying or broken. Mark Drakeford, First Minister of Wales, has some positive ideas for how the UK can be restructured so that everyone in all the UK's nations gets the benefits of belonging to the UK.

You know this Constitutional Monarch we are supposed to swear allegiance to?
Can someone show me what the Constitution says are the obligations of the Monarch, his 'loyal' Parliament and we the People, each to the others?

@PGBeattie The word "Kingdom" is a bit of a clue. (-:

You are a subject of the Crown-In-Parliament, a monarchy. Ironically people describe the government correctly every time that they say the name of the place.

The by/of/for the people stuff is 18th century republicanism. Guillotines and tea parties and whatnot. The U.K. never went around chopping the heads off aristocrats. Too busy having an empress, and the next century a popular Queen.

launched the response to the review into this morning. For someone the complain is a that response seems to be rather more significant than a bit of window-dressing

I don't know the exact number of hurdles against England's non-belligerent reconnection with her neighbors. But I guess abolishing the House of Lords could be among the top ten.

Abolishing English would be more important, although it won't hurt to abolish the formal role of a hereditary nobility in governing the United Kingdom!
