Given the price of gas, the cap could have at the very least been left unchanged, if not cut, rather than increased.

We've all been paying over the odds for months already here in the UK.

A cross party group of MPs have called for a "war effort" to improve the energy efficiency of UK homes.
The Environmental Audit Committee says a "window of opportunity" was missed last summer to get more homes insulated.

The extensive report also recommends a faster move away from fossil fuels, with greater focus on tidal power and wind turbines onshore.

What I assume to be Skelmersdale Battery storage (another Tesla Megapack site) has made an appearance in the BM system overnight. Given timing from breaking ground below I'd expect that will be announced as live shortly.

If you think your bill is wrong, contact your supplier. If it has increased your direct debit, it should explain how it calculated the amount.
I worry that the most vulnerable energy users wont be able to challenge Direct Debit increases.

My supplier sent my annual statement out today. It makes for depressing reading. If I use the same amount of gas over the next year it'll cost me twice as much. I know we knew this already but the reminder has rekindled my ire.
