A Decca mono original is one of those records....I will never have, it's like a black Parlophone Please Please Me or something. Fortunately it was recorded so well and for a major label (Decca) and the tapes have been taken care of, you can buy a reissue NOW that will still sound pretty damn amazing.
This is a record ALIVE, crackles the whole way through.

Neil Young said what Hendrix was to the electric guitar, Bert was to the acoustic and I don't disagree. Bert flew outta the gate fully formed in 1965 with this record. So so good. I have a reissue from 2015? and it's really well done. #NowPlaying a record - I have tons of these! - of sea shanties. I buy every old folk record with Sea Shanties, Topic Records have some great ones. This was done by Ewan MacColl and Bert Lloyd. Fun fact, Frank Zappa had this record as a teenager and loved it and it was stolen from him by none other than Captain Beefheart.
