Been seeing the Buff-tailed queens for almost a week now. This lady is a beauty, the difference between queens and workers with Buff Tailed (queen 18mm, workers 13mm). The garden has winter heather, Rosemarie, daphne and crocuses (also Winter honeysuckle - but unfortunately in the shade and not popular). The nectar is important for these early bees. I had such a positive response to my first moth post, I'll do more. All from my back garden, nocturnal, and released back into the wild.

This is a Puss moth, Cerura vinula, wingspan about 60mm.

I always follow back, and am really grateful for a boost.
