I'm a supporter of #FOSS and despise M$, Gxxgle, Axxple, "bird site", and anything FB/Meta, or whatever they want to call themselves today.

Alternate solution: Does anyone know if the #Ultimate64 has a way to direct SID audio through the internal speaker? I get floppy disk emulated sound, but not #C64 SID sound through the internal speaker.

Anyone have a low-cost, simple way of breaking out audio from HDMI? The Dell P2421 I use for my #Ultimate64 via HDMI, has no audio out (3.5mm).

I was hoping maybe a simple adapter, no external power needed): HDMI male-HDMI female with 3.5mm audio out. Kinda like this:

#Steam #Replay reveals that 98% of my Steam #gaming time this year was spent playing #BF2042. Would probably be even higher if I hadn't contracted that effing virus in June.

While the numbers don't account for #GOG titles, #emulators, my #Ultimate64 #C64 or the #Nintendo #Switch, I still think I spent more time playing #Battlefield than the rest put together. It doesn't have to be old to be enjoyable!

So, some good news. After the garage floor rebuild, and our A/C dying and being told it will cost ~20K to replace only to have a second company replace the fan motor for a few hundred and now it's all fine, I finally got my #ultimate64 back up. Even have my PET 2001 (chicklet kbd) in here.

SO looking forward to getting back to some #retro happiness. 🥰

Well, I got it working. A #BASICv2 routine library for working with the #Ultimate64 TCP/IP stack. Here you see a BASICv2 program getting the default Apache page from a Debian 11 system. Full disclosure, what you're watching is actually from a 'netcat' of the data. Apache was not tolerant of the BASIC's speed so the whole page wouldn't get received. 'ncat' *was* more tolerant. The pic is a snippet of the code. Next up, a #6510 ASM library.

Got an email from Gideon's Logic saying that the first assembled Ultimate-64 boards from the factory passed testing and he'll be sending out units over the coming weeks. Now is probably a great time to order if you want in on this batch. I'm looking forward to having a working C64 again.

The other funny thing is how the different C= groups react to FGPA, the C64 community (open welcoming) .. the Amiga community .. like you had committed the most foul of unforgivable sins just even suggesting you implement any part of an Amiga on an FPGA .. its really eye opening.

Still waiting to see anything MEGA65 that isn’t eye candy demos, IDK I think once the novelty is worn off, most M65s will be in C64 mode and there the U64 has the clear advantage. At first I was excited bout the Mega65 then I “thought” bout it. I already had the best, my U64. (1/2)

Finally pulled the trigger and preordered the #ultimate64 from Gideon's Logic. I have a couple breadbin C64s with failing chips and terrible looking video output and I realized that I just don't have the soldering skills nor the patience to keep them running. I looked at the #mega65 but those are more than 3X the price and I would just use it in #c64 mode anyways.
